I want to eat a healthy diet but can't afford to buy organic free range grass fed foods. My wife doesn't want to change her way of eating which is high carb processed sweets and fastfood a lot of times. I am addicted myself but am trying hard. She is a wonderful cook and also loves to bake cakes pies and cookies. Any words of encouragement Dr. Berry?

Stress..I eat due to stress
My wife and I together lost 80 lbs between us and then gained most of it back when we began drinking beer again. So many keto videos show alcohol and that is a huge trigger for us. We have not had sugar and carbs in years but we cannot break the beer habit. Are there a lot of people in the ketovore community with alcoholic issues? Why do keto videos keep showing alcohol in them? We are so very frustrated and we know it's are own fault.
My weakness is candy of all kinds chocolate while I was younger and hard candy that I’m bad about biting through it instead of sucking on it, I have the teeth to prove it. In my older years it’s more gummy or chewy candies… I have noticed one of the ingredients in the chewy candy is carnaubu wax, I know that can’t be healthy for you!!!

For me it’s when I’ve been without gluten 2-3 months and I start getting really bad headaches and feeling really weak. Really, funny though since I figured out that I have an intolerance to oatmeal and I’m really wondering if I have celiac disease since gluten not only is hard to swallow but it causes my throat to tighten. Gluten is also a trigger for my FND symptoms. Which causes severe weakness and bladder control issues. The weakness is so bad that picking up plates, cups or feeding myself is difficult. It also causes me to need a walker and needing a shower chair and grab bars in my bathroom. My gluten addiction is sooo hard to fight and I know what it does to me but it’s like I just put it in my mouth without thinking until I ate it and it’s like oh, this is gluten or has gluten in it. I’m also addicted to sugar too but I’ve been trying to use erythritol because it’s not as sweet as stevia or Swerve. I’m allergic monkfruit so that one is out. I’ve come a long way from where I was but I’m still not there yet. I sweeten my coffee with 1t erythritol and some heavy cream and sprinkle of organic cinnamon. Cinnamon for some reason makes things taste a little sweeter. I haven’t made a keto treat in a couple of weeks now. Usually if I do, I make mini carnivore cheesecakes or eat Lilly’s chocolate chips with the smuckers natural peanut butter and 1t erythritol. Yesterday, I did make like some keto French toast eggs after I at a couple oz of cheese and a 4 oz steak. It was sweet but after I ate it then I was just craving sweets like mad. I was jumping and dancing around just distracting myself while I was watching the KC game last night.

It can be very difficult for us to get fresh foods, which are among the best things for the paleo diet you recommend. Do you have any suggestions of what types of foods are healthy that can be ordered from Walmart? About the only thing I can think of is canned chicken and fish.
ENEMY: Food allergies. A lot of "keto friendly" foods make me very sick. Eg.: brassica, dairy

I cannot stress how much I love the carnivore "diet". It is the ONLY diet that has removed 100% of my cravings…from day one. I can watch my friends plough through bag after bag of potato chips (my kryptonite), and have zero desire for any. Also, carnivore is the only diet that doesn't cause me any physical discomfort; everything else causes bloating and hurts my gut.
For me, my greatest enemy to weight loss is smoking Cannabis. I used to smoke it every night for insomnia (which worked far better than any pill that I'd tried), but had to give it up (reluctantly) because my head would say, "Let's eat EVERYTHING!" And I would. Not because I was hungry, or that it tasted good (usually, I couldn't taste anything), but because my mouth loved the different textures. Now, when I avoid that, and eat only meat, everything is easy-peasy.

Definitely stay away from keto treats and no calorie sweeteners. They brought back my carb addiction and they stopped my weight loss. Apparently my insulin response is to the sweet taste

what im dealing with right now is its hard to ignore all the junk my mom buys, i cant wait to get out on my own once im able to but for now im fighting a battle trying to avoid all the junk that is obviously lying around. things like soda chips candy juice and other things plus she cooks a lot of things like potatoes pizza and other high carb and processed foods. my mom is aware that im prediabetic with pcos and my dad has diabetes too but i think my mom is in denial. we were actually having a conversation while in the store about how ive been having trouble dealing with sugar then a few minutes later we turn onto the candy aisle and she asks what kind of candy i wanted, i was kinda mad about that and just said i didn't want any. she just doesn't get what im trying to tell her so my best hope is moving out, im still fighting right now though.

Smokes are the same and the government stepped in an regulated marketing and sales. Look at all the wealthy, intelligent, dedicated self motivated but chronically obese people who can’t control what they put in their mouth. The government needs to acknowledge this and take action. Health insurance companies will go bankrupt and hospitals swamped with obesity health issues. Dr Berry, Dr Fung and others are excellent and are slowly turning the tide but obesity rates go up every year. I consider Dr Berry to be part of my family.
